Guo Pei Peony Porcelain Vase
ExhibitionsProduct Detail
Hailed as China’s first couturier, Guo Pei is renowned for her extraordinary designs, made with exquisite craftsmanship, lavish embroidery, and unconventional dressmaking techniques. These stunning vases feature details from Pei’s 1002 Nights collection (2009) centred around the peony, dragon or ribbon motifs. This design focuses on Pei’s re-imagining of chinoiserie, a Western interior design style representing fanciful interpretations of Chinese motifs popularised in the 18th century. Made of fine porcelain china with hand-painted flourishes, this vase is a limited-edition design object entrenched in haute couture history.
