One of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most important 20th century artists, Rita Angus was deeply connected to the world around her. In the early 1950s, while visiting friends in Mangonui, Northland, Angus found a seaside cottage where she spent time in a vegetable garden and made watercolour studies of the surrounding landscape, including this print Lupin.
