Tī Rākau Set
KidsProduct Detail
Travel back in time when you play tītītorea, a traditional Māori game that dates back hundreds of years. Proudly made in Aotearoa, this set includes two whero rākau (red sticks) and two kākāriki rākau (green sticks) for you to use as you learn waiata (songs), practice hand-eye coordination, and have some fun! What began as a journey of exploring her Māori whakapapa (genealogy) alongside her tamariki (children) blossomed into Rākau, founded by Tatyana Rountree to encourage the use of te reo and te ao Māori (Māori language and Māori worldview) through interactive play. Rākau lovingly handcrafts environmentally friendly, long-lasting wooden toys as taonga to be passed down from generation to generation.
