Anindilyakwa Arts Bush Dye Silk Scarf
ExhibitionsProduct Detail
Produced by the artists of Anindilyakwa Arts, these silk scarves are handcrafted by women from the Groote Eylandt Archipelago in the Northern Territory. Using the ancient knowledge of Anindilyakwa country and dyeing practices, these bush-dyed textiles are created using a variety of locally sourced roots, leaves, bark, and berries. The artists arrange leaves to create patterns before immersing the fabric in dye pots of plant materials, producing unique textiles that reflect the impression of Anindilyakwa country.
