Product Detail

Sometimes you see parts of yourself reflected within a work of art, and sometimes that work of art is a mirror! Get the best of both worlds when you take home this handy pocket mirror showcasing Kura Te Waru Rewiri’s Tenei au, tenei au (This is me, this is me) as featured in Auckland Art Gallery’s extraordinary Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art exhibition. Inspired by the unique Māori art form of abstract rafter paintings called kōwhaiwhai, Kura Te Waru Rewiri (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Kahu, Ngāti Rangi, Ngāti Raukawa ki Kauwhata) explores the ebb and flow of contrasting positive and negative space to create depth and stretch the limits of the two-dimensional in her work entitled Tenei au, tenei au.
