Priscilla McLean Pink Tjilkamarta Woven Sculpture
ExhibitionsProduct Detail
The Tjanpi Desert Weavers produce these colourful sculptures. This social enterprise represents over 400 Aṉangu/Yarnangu women artists in the remote Central and Western desert regions who earn an income from contemporary fibre art. Made of materials gathered on Country, animals emerge from tjanpi (grass), raffia and acrylic wool as a physical manifestation of a cultural practice that is fundamental to Central and Western desert populations.
