Sharp Cheese Knife
Sharp Cheese Knife
Made by sculptor-chef Tom Muir from sustainably sourced New Zealand native timber, this beautiful cheese knife is intended to be used and passed down through the ages. With a blade crafted from Black Maire, one of our hardest timbers used by early Māori for cultivation tools and weaponry, and a volcanic Kaihikate handle, this knife is surprisingly keen and a pleasure to hold.
Each of these wooden implements have been made by hand so there will be variations in wood type and colour. This only adds to their beauty and character. Made primarily from Black Maire, with an additional blend of native timbers which may include: kauri, rewarewa, totara, tanekaha, kōwhai, kahikatea, and pukatea.
