Kids’ Taiaha

From kapa haka (performance theatre) practice to role play games to beautiful wall art, this kids’ taiaha (wooden weapon) is as versatile as it is superbly strong! Proudly handmade in Aotearoa, the kids’ taiaha comes in 3 different sizes to suit tamariki (children) of any height. What began as a journey of exploring her Māori whakapapa alongside her tamariki blossomed into Rākau, founded by Tatyana Rountree (to encourage the use of te reo and te ao Māori (Māori language and Māori worldview) through interactive play. Rākau lovingly handcrafts environmentally friendly, long-lasting wooden toys as taonga (treasures) to be passed down from generation to generation.
