Sara Hughes: All My Favourite Shapes - The Mini Set

"I created the first Mini Set of All My Favourite Shapes for my sons sixth birthday using the offcuts left over from hand cutting the magnetic shapes for the initial iteration of the work at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery in 2019. During lockdown I thought a lot about the role of art and developed this set with the intention of bringing creativity for all ages into the home. It was important to me that this artist edition was made in New Zealand; the magnetic shapes are screen printed to match my specific colours, the wooden box, tube and printing has all be created in New Zealand and I am currently employing a group of young artists in the studio to help make All My Favourite Shapes - The Mini Set".
