Quiet, considered and crafted with intention, Mud and Stone Studios’ ceramics connect us to the moments that matter. It was while hiking 15,000km across multiple continents that Karma Taylor developed a deep connection to nature and a desire to start experimenting meaningfully with clay. Years later she founded Mud and Stone Studios with her partner, stone artist Scott Taylor, guided by a wholehearted belief that the things we live with should bring joy, invite pause and connect us to ourselves and the world around us. Crafted on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island, every piece is wheel-thrown or hand-built from 100% local clay, glazed from scratch and made using rainwater and solar power. Strong, minimal and refined, each object is shaped with presence and purpose – crafted to be closely held and lived with, enhancing the quiet beauty of life’s daily rhythms.
