KAWAKAWA by Raiha Rongoā is a balm remedy using one of New Zealand’s most recognised native plants. Kawakawa, an herbaceous shrub with knobbly joints and branching stems, has been used in rongoā Māori (natural remedies) for centuries. The plant is generally soothing and helps with reduction of blemishes, rashes and skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. The family business KAWAKAWA, formed in 2021, was created to bring awareness and knowledge about the natural product. If you find that the label isn’t on straight or there are some residual kawakawa leaves on the bottom of the pot, this is a reminder that everything is hand made by the Raiha Rongoā whānau.
